ASCE 7 Minimum Wind Load Application

ASCE 7 (10, 16, and 22 versions) section 27.1.5 specifies a minimum wind load on the entire building projected area (see commentary). This should be applied as a separate load case. RAM Frame treats this as individual floors shall not receive less than 16-psf. There should be an option/setting to use the worst-case of 16-psf or the calculated pressures, which may be less than 16-psf on some levels. This would better align with ASCE 7.

It seems pretty rare that the min would control and we are conservative in the current implementation. Your idea could work if it's a user selection when creating a load case. If this new "use minimum pressure" setting is turned on, then the program would apply 16 psf to the full area (and skip the eccentricity results, reducing the number of cases?). It poses some risk that a user might select this under the false assumption that the program would perform the worst of two conditions leaving you with an unconservative result.
